Plastic bottle flowers-bottom

We live in the middle east and my hubby doesnt trust the big water gallons which is refilled.
So we buy water bottles. As a result, I always have an enormous collection of plastic water bottles.Initially I used to throw them. Then the idea of recyclying stuck me.Then the next thing was browsing www.These bottles can be turned into funnels, weights, bowling sets, pencil cups, drawer organizers, vases and even board game pieces. I’m always on the lookout for crafty ways to reuse my bottles.
The first thing which I made is plastic bottle flowers. Its a very easy and fun to make.Cut the base off a plastic bottle. This might be a bit tough so what i did is make a cut with a knife then use scissors. Be careful not to stab yourself!! Cut within the grooves of the bottle. This will form the petals of the flower. As I used a big bottle it has lots of petals.
But i guess with different bottle designs there will be a different number of grooves. Just experiment!
Then I painted each flower with acrylic paint.I wanted to try metalic shades..would be doing it in metalic next.I joined all the three flowers together on a string using a needle and attached 2 leaves in between. The leaves too has been made out of the same bottles.I used the middle of the bottle to make them.Drew a outline on the bottle using a marker and cut it out using scissors.
